In Loving Memory of our sister....Busty Two days ago our Mom left for work. She drove away like normal and then felt something like a "thump". A friend had seen Busty run from the car and tried to catch her. She had a little blood on her mouth but continued running. Daddy could not find her before he left for work so when Mommy got home she continued looking. She found our sister in the neighbors backyard with blood coming from her eyes, nose and mouth. Mommy and Daddy rushed her to the Vet where upon many test decided it was best to lay Busty to rest. She suffered severe head trauma and a jaw that was cracked in three places. We are all very sad and cant help but feel that this horrific event could have been prevented if we were educated. Please pass this along to anyone who has pets, knows someone with pets or drives a car... I have included some adcive from websites such as banging on the hood of your car or honking the horn to make sure no animals have climbed in your engine hoping to stay warm. Thank you again.....and Busty you will be greatly missed ..... "Warm vehicles can attract cats who may jump up into the engine compartment to get closer to the heat. This can be fatal if a person starts the vehicle, unaware of the presence of the cat. It is a good idea to knock on the hood of the vehicle or blow the horn (if it is not too disruptive to the neighborhood) before starting your car or truck." "Cats will curl up against almost anything to stay warm--including car engines. Cats caught in moving engine parts can be seriously hurt or killed. Before you turn your engine on, check beneath the car or make a lot of noise by honking the horn or rapping on the hood."
