being left home, nothing else really--Maddie & Baxter are happy dogs.

stuffed animals and tug ropes. Maddie likes to chew on a blue teething toy and Baxter likes anything that squeaks. They both love playing with ice cubes.

Fetch,Sit,Stay,Lay on the ground,shake, heel. Maddie is good at sit stays and stand stays. But she's not good at fetch--Baxter makes up for it though and will fetch whatever toy Maddie forgot to bring back.

We adopted Maddie in May 2008. She was about 4 or 5 months then. We don't know a lot about her background. We thought she was a Wheaten Terrier, but she must be mixed with something. She's about 9 or 10 months old and already weighs 45lbs. The vet thinks she's mixed with Wolf hound. We're really not sure, but we'd like to do a doggie DNA test. It just seems a bit silly though. We adopted Baxter in August 2008 and he's about the same age (or just slightly younger) than Maddie. He's a Wheaten Terrier for sure and weighs 20 pounds. Maddie is a lazy girl, but Baxter is a ball of energy. He loves to chase anything that moves. But, he definitely likes a good nap too. Baxter likes to curl up with Maddie when he takes a nap. Maddie does somersaults when she's happy to see you. Maddie gets really excited and if you sit down on the ground she just wants to be right in your lap. She's come up to you and put her head down and then flip her butt over her head (doing a somersault) right into your lap. Baxter makes the funniest little noise when he's excited to see you. You can't describe it by typing, but it's like ""hey! pet me! pet me!"" Very cute. They both are hilarious when they sleep...but Maddie is especially funny. She'll lay on her back with her legs completely stretched out like a frog's legs and her arms over her head like super man. Baxter does this sometimes too, but Maddie looks much sillier since she's so much bigger than he is.
