Hi All, I am new to the Yuma area. I have a German Shephard, Aikida, Mastiff mix, and need to get him out to excercise. I went to Mitry Lake, but really no place for him to ease himself into the water. He has issues with his hips, so really needs to get into a smimming regimen. My main fear is the natural local habitat, i.e. Rattlers, Scorpions, and other critters Duke may find himself face to face with. He has a natural propensity to want to stick his nose in places where one of these characters may be hiding. I thought of purchasing a rattle from a ratler, and attempt to break him, or give him a fear for the rattle sound. LEAVE IT!!!! AAAGH!!! Does anyone out there have any advice? Would really appreciate any insight into this issue.
